Ethan surprised us and came 1 week and 1 day early...My water broke at 2am and we were headed to the hospital by 3am with contractions present. I tried my best to go medication free but at 7am I broke down and got an epidural--the contractions were manageable the back pain was not! Upon arrival I was 3cm dialted and progressed quickly...the baby was in the birth postion by 7am and pushing began...Jimmy faired well...he only dropped my leg once and he was able to muster up the courage to cut the umbilical cord! He was a terrific coach! I can honestly say that the epidural took all the pain away...however it made pushing difficult so the epidural dosage needed to be cut in half...after that it was just pressure. All in all a great experience.
