Good and Bad Days...

We have had our moments over the past 2+ weeks...each day is getting a little easier...I think...but my judgement cannot be trusted due to sleep deprivation; Jimmy is such a huge help, I don't know what I would do without him; grandparents are a wonderful thing as well...without them I probably would not get a shower and just might hang Ethan by his toenails like I threaten to do numerous times throughout the day! Here are a few photos of the good, the bad & the ugly...

22 Months

Yes, I have decided that 2 years WILL be the cut off for monthly chair pictures...as we are hitting the terrrible two's nothing I request of Ethan is EASILY followed through... Ethan is in a defiant stage but continues to love his sister. He does still like to do house chores but HIS way only... yikes he definitely got that trait from me! Ethan is talking more and more; he loves to jump like a kangaroo; and is quite the dare devil to my dismay.

It's a GIRL!

We are PROUD parents to another darling pumpkin! Daphne Evelyn arrived quicker than expected on Tues. 9.29, we arrived at the hospital just in the nick of time to start pushing; YES, that means NO drugs for Mommy...so the recuperation has been harder than anticipated! Daphne entered the world at 5:33am happy & healthy, weighing in at 7lbs. 0.4oz.; and "standing tall" at 20inches. Ethan could not be a better big brother if he tried to his precious little sis who he refers to as "Daff". He is very attentive and loves to give her hugs & kisses and a happy "Hi" EVERY time he passes by her. We are SOO proud of his acceptance of her and our time that is being diverted to her needs as well! I will try my best to keep up the blogging!
(Jimmy is a little scared with a 2nd female in the house...I am sure he is going to put a freeze on my credit cards...as little girls things (clothes & accessories) are just too cute to pass by!)

The Cousin Update...

Ethan and Harrison, 2 of my favorite boys, are a little bit like ying & yang... Ethan is very aggressive, likes to be in charge and his mood can switch on a dime; Harrison is passive, goes with the flow and generally always happy! We are hoping that Ethan is going to be nicer to Harris every time they get together as Harrison suffered a paramount number of wounds this last visit! Despite bullying Harris at times, Ethan truely misses Harris when he goes home... as do we!

21 Months old...

Wow the time is going by fast with the count down to baby arrival time less than a month away! Ethan is learning new things at such a fast rate! He continues to learn new words daily has had 2 overnight sleepovers with flying success; climbs like spiderman on everything and anything and is dismantling our childproofing mechanisms left and right and at times securing them for us depending on what kind of a mood he is in... but there is absolutely no question on that he wants to be INDEPENDENT with everything he does... this power struggle is running me ragged especially when he chooses not to sleep and take naps. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?! Ethan's high energy continues to stay strong; I wish he would share some of it with me! (The baby MUST be more passive and calm...I am convincining myself...or else I just might lose it...) Ethan's love of helping continues as well, he enjoys participating in ALL household tasks...I hope this attribute continues once the baby arrives!

Diggers Galore...

Ethan has been spoiled by all the bull dozers, backhoe loaders, & excavators in the neighborhood...yes I am learning all the REAL names thanks to Ethans obsession with construction machines! Daddy lets Ethan "test drive" them all, while Mommy just takes him to look at them!
