Our little man is now a preschooler! Ethan is attending Cedarville Nursery School 2 mornings a week. He has been soo proud to wear his BATMAN backpack.
Ethan had his open house night last week where Mommy, Daddy and Ethan went to greet the teachers and he had a little scavenger hunt to get acquainted with the toys...the teacher handed him the paper he turned handed it to me and ran for the toys...I had to redirect him...when he had to find the doll house he looked at me puzzled and said it wasn't important--he would never need to know where it was... At each point he had to peel off a sticker and put it on his sheet...he preceeded to grab the entire sheet of stickers then throw the remaining ones---really where did he learn this barbaric behavior?! I am happy to say that although the scavenger hunt did not go as well as I had hoped...he played nicely with all the other boys and girls and even hugged one of his teachers goodbye.
This week was a success as well. Ethan marched right into the building with NO FEAR and no tears. Other than the inital argument on the way to school that he was NOT wearing a name tag because HE knew his name and did not need a reminder!
We are enjoying his recap of the day already...the school gives us a written update outside the building of what went on so we have discussion points. Today when I asked Ethan about the craft he said that he did not do one...really?...that is not what the memo board said, Ethan...."i don't like crafts"...so Ethan does that mean that YOU did not participate??? "something like that".... ohh boy! We have already discussed that Mommy wants his master pieces for home...so he better start liking crafts..."ok....as long as I get to use paint...they were just using pencils today!"
We hope he has a great learning experience this year. I love his teachers and the environment. He is in a PLAY based program so it should definitely be up his alley! We are soo proud of how Ethan is adapting to preschool! We can't believe how grown up he is getting!
