19 months old...

Daphne continues to flourish... new words every day (one of my favorites is "orange juice" because she puckers up her face when she says it oh soo sweetly)... can now jump with both feet clearing the floor... developing a little bit of an attitude to go with her spunk... and learning to blame things on her brother already---if something happens her finger is pointing right at "E-thie"...at this point whether he did it or not!

Happy Easter

I thought that as the kids got older it would be easier to get a photo of the family... oh well.

Professional Hunters...

Easter Egg Hunters that is...Ethan and Daphne have become quite the pros... 3 egg hunts down this year...one at church and one at each of the Grandparents' houses...so the Easter bunny decided to hold off on one at our house this year! Pretty amazing considering the weather was not on our side this year! The highlight of Gramzie Ladybug & Leepa's Hunt was that the kids were confusing the outdoor decor with eggs and putting rocks and decorations into their baskets on more than one occasion. Grandmom and Grandpop had to move their hunt indoors as it was pouring rain!

Ethan has his strategy down...and his number one question this year "how can you tell if they have money in them?" Daphne on the other hand is just in search of chocolate...and once she finds it she is complacent to eat and stop searching for more... that is what her brother is for anyway right?!

Ethan went right up and sat on the Easter Bunny's lap...Daphne on the other hand cried her eyes out even with Daddy holding her...she is NOT a fan of holiday icons.

Springtime is Here!

We have been trying to get outside and enjoy as much of the good weather as possible...hence not much blogging has been going on!

Decorating...

With less than 2 weeks to go until Easter we feverishly are getting indoors and outdoors ready for the Bunny's arrival. Hopefully we will be dying the eggs soon! I am not sure if we will get in making our own Easter candy eggs this year...time will tell.

2 Trips to D.C.

We have managed to see our nephews in their neck of the woods 2 times recently. Once to meet Dalton for the first time and then for his Baptism. Ethan and Daphne can't get enough of their cousins...Ethan & Harrison are playing soo nicely together these days. Ethan always is asking when he can sleepover again or have Harris come here. Daphne just loves "baby" Dalton...poor kid is going to be malled to death by all her kisses and love! We even took a trip on the Metro to see the Cherry Blossoms...unfortunately the weather made a quick turn and the hail forced us to take cover in the museums. We are looking forward to taking the kids back to D.C. for a thorough tour of our Nations Capital.

2 of a kind...

Ethan and Daphne are two amazing kids...they can push my buttons to the point where my blood boils and 1 second later have me in stitches with their silliness. I soo enjoy them both. Watching them grow is the best experience of my life and I wouldn't trade it for the world! It truely cracks me up to see them interact with each other and see the different traits that Jimmy & I have passed on...all the good ones from me of course and the bad from Jimmy ;-) just kidding dear! Daphne has insisted on more than one occasion that Ethan hold her and feed her...she is totally capable of feeding herself with utensils independently mind you...and Ethan just loves the attention! At times Ethan insists that Daphne lay down with him for his quiet time...I think this is more so she can't play with his toys rather brotherly love. Ethan has a love-hate relationship with Daphne depending on his mood...Daphne just loves him no matter what.

On another note...Ethan is quite the inventor...above you can see the roller coaster car he made out of a diaper box...it worked a few times then just became dangerous! He is quite into recycling things to make new toys...

18 months old...

I don't even know where to begin... So I'll start with the well check...Daphne is weighing in at (10-25%); unfortunately due to her dislike of going to the Doctors Office we were unable to get an accurate length after multiple tries but she is at least in the 50%. Daphne is ahead in her gross motor skills...she can gallop and jump getting both feet off the floor. She can kick a ball and throw a ball straight to you. She can use both spoon and fork pretty well and insists on doing anything to do with feeding by herself...oh, and forget highchairs or booster seats...she wants a regular chair. She is still the reigning champ for MESSIEST EATER...no wonder she is soo thin...the food is all over her and the floor...the funny part is she is able to get the utensils to her mouth accurately...I can't wait until we can eat all our meals outside! Oh, and she continues to be a very picky eater...just recently she will now allow vegetables to pass her lips and even takes a few bites before spitting them out....thanks to her big brother gnashing on them without hesitation...she wants to do whatever he does...hopefully at least this aspect will go in my favor. Daphne likes everything and anything girlie but has no qualms about getting dirty and acting like a tom boy to keep up with her brother...she is quite the wrestler and enjoys all types of sensory input...she is sure to love amusement rides this summer. Language acquisition is coming right along with over 3 dozen words. She continues to incorporate her sign language as well. Her recent accomplishment is to yell at Ethan in a voice that sounds like goose squabble while shaking her finger at him and getting right up into his face...jeez I wonder where on Earth she learned that...
