17 Months Old...

Our little princess is growing like a weed...she likes everything girlie...pink and purple are by far her favorite colors! She loves to examine any jewelry that family and friends are wearing. Daphne definitely has an addiction to shoes and pocket books as well!
Babbling continues with many pitches and a lot of hand gestures. Daphne is using both sign language and expanding her english words as well...she has about 2 dozen words & a dozen animal sounds.
Daphne loves to climb everything and anything, she gallops and loves to dance. She insists on using flatware whether or not it is appropriate for the food or snack...which is funny because she takes pride in being a messy eater...Daphne is developing quite the arm...she can throw a ball straight to you overhand and catches a rolled ball...she is also good at kicking a stationary ball. At this point she insists on her independence on walking up and down the stairs...I thought there could only be one dominant child in a family?!
So far crafting has not taken off...our problem is that she EATS the supplies!! Finger paint...eats it...crayons...eats them too...play dough...stuffs huge bites in her mouth! Yet she is picky about food that she eats?!
I must say Daphne is such a pleasure. She is full of life and love!

(Thanks Kim for the awesome tutu!)

Jimmy goes to Banff

Be careful of what you wish for...unfortunately I have been thinking of snow soo long now...I jinxed Jimmy...he got snowed in right as he was to leave for a trip to Canada...so unfortunately his trip got all messed up between cancelled and delayed flights, missing his connection, having to spend an unexpected overnight in Minnesota, and missing a day of skiing. Then his skis didn't make the flight home. (all is well now)
Jimmy did enjoy a shorter than planned trip with his college 4x4 Mines buddies. Unfortunately they do not get to see each other often as they are spread out in and out of the country. Chelsea did a wonderful job blogging the adventure...so please check out her posting!

Messiest Eater...

...and the award goes to DAPHNE. Yes, she would have it no other way...not only is she the pickiest eater she is not happy unless the food passes the hair test... she grades her food not by texture nor taste rather how well it performs as hair paste!
