Visiting Beantown...

Yes, way back in June we were in the Boston area...I am running soo behind on my last few months of blogging...
Holly, Joey and Ryan graciously hosted our stay. As always we had a delightful time. Jimmy looks forward to the annual Rusty Brown Showdown golf tournament that soo many of his old co-workers from Haley & Aldrich attend...the spouses and kids get to meet up for the afterward BBQ. It is always nice to catch up with everyone. Although, each year battling Cape traffic gets less and less appealing; with 3 young children in the car life is sure an adventure...Poor Ryan was stuffed back in the 3rd row...for some reason I could not get the console out of the 2nd row so he literally had to climb in!
Ryan was GREAT at sharing! Ethan marched into the house and straight to Ryan's gourmet kitchen set...yes, we need to work on Ethan visiting with PEOPLE and not going straight to the toys! Ethan is amazed with all Ryan's big boy toys...and I am pretty sure Ryan has every toy that was ever made;-) Ryan was absolutely adorable with Daphne...and Daphne enjoyed having attention from a boy who was not trying to wrestle her down!
The time always goes by soo fast. We had an adventure to Drumlin Farm while the boys were golfing---Thanks Holly! Ethan of course was in heaven...anything to do with animals and hayrides...he kept asking where the giraffe was though...oppsie getting the zoo mixed up with the farm! We made it to Good Harbor beach for a day. Cafe Mirror was as good as I remembered...hopefully they will not remember us the next time we visit...as Ethan managed to spill his milk, then tilt a neighboring table and make a complete mess as the sugar jar crashed to the floor! Aggghhh the terrible 2's! And then somehow we ran out of time...We never made it into the city! There is always next time!

10 months old...

Daphne continues to grow like a weed...she is showing us that althought she is quite laid back in personality that she has SPUNK too! She likes to do things HERSELF. She has learned quite a bit from her brother: how to climb EVERYTHING, self defense tactics, independence, dancing skills, and fast forward motion. Daphne has offically taken her FIRST STEPS! About 3-4 steps total at a time, a few times daily. (I'd like to think our children's advanced gross motor skills have something to do with having a Mom that is a PT!) On the other hand, how can we have two extremely energetic children?!...they must get that from their father!
Daphne is leading the move to eating only table food...again so she can do it herself! She now has her 2 top front teeth close to 1/2 way in place and the ones next to them trying to break thru the gums...for a total of 4 chompers currently. This first year is just flying by!

Ocean City 2010

We joined Gramzie Ladybug and Leepa for a week at the Jersey shore. Auntie Tiffy was able to catch a few days as well. My friend Kerri and her family also happened to be staying about a block away...so Ethan enjoyed having Brett on the beach to play with...or should I say shoot at with his water gun.
The weather was quite humid and very hot...a great time to have the Ocean near by to cool off! We enjoyed walking the boardwalk a few mornings and evenings, hanging out at the beach and jumping the waves in the Ocean, & many great eats.
Of course we had to do amusement rides as well, with our little thrill seeker Ethan! He had been begging to go on the big kid Go Karts...so Daddy agreed to take him on...as an on looker I thought he hated it as he was balling from my view, later on to find out Ethan was upset that HE was not allowed to drive the go kart and he was throwing a tantrum and managed to wedge his foot into Jimmy's leg to lock the gas pedal completely down...luckily the go karts had governing chips for speed... I even got to enjoy a few rides this year...Mommy got to do all the spinny rides as Daddy can't handle them...and it appears that Mommy may have over done it as Ethan was looking a little green...opps! (I guess I like to spin more than the average bear!) Ethan was tall enough to try out a few rides on his own this year...yikes our little man is growing up!
Daphne took well to the beach and the water...unfortunately NO FEAR...she crawled right into the water and didn't mind the waves crashing into her. She also had quite the pallet for sand and salt water?! What is it with my kids and EATING the environment?!
Thanks Gramzie Ladybug and Leepa for a wonderful vacation!

Happy Birthday, Harrison!

Our dearest nephew Harrison turned 2! Aunt Lisa did an awesome job with his airplane cake...runway and all! Ethan & Harrison are still testing the waters with each other (Ethan can be a bit of a bull and still thinks that GrandMom is only HIS)...however, when Harris is not around Ethan talks about him all the time as if the were BFF's. Harris adores Daphne and is so cute with her...I think he wants a sibling of his own ;-) Ethan couldn't wait for Harris to open his gifts...or should I say ETHAN couldn't wait to OPEN Harris gifts for him!

Independence Day

"Happy Birthday, America" as Ethan would put it...he was soo excited for fireworks and insisted on putting candles on dessert to celebrate--Ethan has been OBSESSED with birthday's lately! Happy 4th of July!
