Auntie Tiffy lent Ethan a baby pin that was a namesake pin which my father received in 1951 after his great unlce and my grandfather wore it. The letter that was attached to the pin was from my dad's grandmother on the day of his birth explaining the tradition. Ethan Charles wore the pin with pride.

Traditions...
The Ceremony...
Ethan's Christening ceremony was beautiful...the service was held in the church we were married and Rev. Timmons tied in all the music and sermon wonderfully with the theme of baptism...The holy water that she used had a portion of the Jordan River water, the river in which Jesus was baptized. This was an extra special tie in with tradition! I think Ethan is going to love swimming...most of the baptisms we have viewed the babies end up screaming... however, Ethan loved the water running down him! In fact once all the excitement was over he decided to "rest his eyes" for a few moments. We are pleased to announce Ethan's Godparents...Auntie Tiffy, Aunt Lisa & Uncle Mark...we are honored to have you as Ethan's Godparents!!
The Celebration...
We had lunch at our house after the service...and yes I made the attempt to handmake the cake and frost it too...not quite as nice looking as a cake Trisha would make....but I'll keep practicing...Yikes...I guess we got so caught up in celebrating that we forgot to get photos with everyone...sorry Aunt Trisha & Uncle Jon...your just as important too!!

Learning other Religions...

Ethan celebrated his first Seder dinner with Leepa...he had his own Haggadah to follow along with...found the affikomen...and prepared prior with reading his books regarding the celebration... It is great that Ethan has the opportunity to partake in such experiences... He also got to sit at the table like a big boy in a high chair!

Long & Lean...
...not only is it a style of GAP jeans but it describes our little man too...

Ethan had his 4 mo. office visit today...he is standing tall at 26 1/4 inches---yes that is the 90th percentile...and it explains why none of his footed 3-6 month clothes fit!! He is weighing in at 15.4 oz--hitting the 50-75th percentile...and head circumference at the 50th percentile--which I definitely would have thought it to be bigger since NONE of his hats fit the proper age range!! (he is wearing 6-12 month hats at this point!!) Ethan was a trooper with his immunizations 4 shots and one oral...yikes!!
We have been given the green light to start solid foods since he is quite the eater with the liquids! Stay tuned for the updates!!

SkippyJon Ethan...
If you are familiar with the childrens books "SkippyJonJones" who is a Siamese Cat that thinks he is a Chihuahua...we have our own little SkippyJon...a boy named Ethan that thinks he is a billy goat...he will chew anything...bibs, burpclothes, & clothing (whether it be his own or mom's or dad's)...so much for having toys...all we needed were "flannel cookies" as grandmom calls them! Ethan has been busily teething for the past month...no teeth surfacing just yet though.
